You work hard on creating your book. You have gone through each and every aspect of your work to make sure that your book is a success, but still it happens that your book is not selling. This stops them from cultivating a practical view and expectations.
The best way to prevent overestimating the readers is to make sure the earning history of other books that deal with the same subject. Every writer desires to be a bestseller, but most books are written from a position that is too little to create bestseller sales.
The other situation is where the book has a huge audience, but still the public does not purchase that much. If your subject is interesting and popular, readers will appreciate the content. However, if still the selling of books is not increasing, then you must try to think about the above mentioned factors. Depending on the factors, you must try to make important changes. During such a condition, you will have to invest more money and time in advertising your effort. You must also think about reducing your cost. You must try to re-release the novel at different time and you can also think about changing the title of the book. The title is the soul of any book. An effective title can give great success to the author. It can also generate openings for numerous passive income sources from licensing the sale of the book, merchandising, and belongings. The book title should be original. The book title also requires authorization, it requires  ownership and security. If, intentionally or unknowingly, you copy the title from another author, it is a very serious allegation and your reputation can be damaged.

Most commonly, the titles are protected under the laws of trademark, especially the titles of an ongoing series. An editor as a reader


The editor does editing of the script. Editing is the procedure of choosing and making audible, written, and film works more sensible and correct, organized, brief as possible with consistent work and complete work. The editing procedure generally starts with the writer's creation of the work. The work begins with the connection of the writer and an editor. The editing profession includes good relationships with people, precise methods, and creative skills.

There are different working patterns for editing jobs. A copy-editor works for a magazine, this profession is completely different than the editor who works on books and novels. The editors who work at a newsroom are different than one who works in the fashion industry or business industry. Therefore, there are different roles of an editor. An editor as a reader has to see all the aspects of the manuscript. An editor must know how to handle the work depending on its type, including fiction, journalism, and nonfiction novels.

Therefore, an editor as a reader refines the work. The editor gives a definite path to the story from a movie, a book, or an article. The editor cuts out the parts which are unessential and lengthening the story unnecessarily. The editor highlights the important major points, focusing attention to situations where the audience should concentrate and remain intrigued by the story.

Many times editors have to prove the writer’s strength in order to promote them. New writers and literary agents generally give their manuscripts to the acquisitions editor. The acquisitions editor is an expert in fiction work.

Developmental editor: An editor helps authors to create a book from a simple idea, or from an outline. An editor ensures that the book has all the requirements which will help the book be published. Therefore, an editor is in close association with the writer. The editor guides the writer while writing non-fiction.

Manuscript or Copy editor: The editor makes sure that the script is in good style and standards. An editor corrects any inconsistencies in the book, grammar mistakes, spelling mistakes.

Proofreader: This person is the last person to check the book. A proof reader compares the work of the writer with the old version. The work of the proofreader is different than the editor, but sometimes editors can work as a proofreader.

Tips On Responding To Rejections


Every writer tries his or her best for the best work. They know how hard they have worked and  nobody likes to experience rejection. The sad part is that it is the truth of life. We all face rejection in some form, at some part in our life. It really hurts to get denied or eliminated. It depends on an individual how to handle this rejection. It surely hurts, but it gives a new viewpoint as well.

It is very joyous to get accepted by others, when the decision of choice is in the hands of other people. It is very prestigious to get appreciation from others for the work. Affirmations are great to experience. Sometimes rejections make us aware of our weakness, and if immediately worked on, we can get desirable results. Confirmations are always welcome, our true personality can be revealed during the times of rejection.

Rejection has its own benefits. It educates us about our work, our skills, where we lack and where we stand strong. This is a very effective revelation. Those who are not able to handle the rejection and respond in complete negation can ruin their lives. Initially, it is very hurtful. It takes time to accept the rejection of our writing, but to rise again to succeed is the best response to rejection.

If you are a writer, you are more sensitive towards things than other people. As a writer, you must know that you are bound to face rejection initially. You will have to face a lot of rejections. Regrettably, rejection is believed by some people as an evidence that anything that they do or want is wrong, they are not made to write, it is a task for others, or they are unworthy of acquiring their desires. These are natural responses after rejection. The great part about it is that you need to fight through them and rise above it. It is natural to feel insecure or unworthy after a rejection. The hurt from the rejection explains the sharp agony that is felt at the time of rejection; the lasting effects that are both bodily and mentally, but the responses and results are in our hands. Rejection does not rule our life, our responses do affect our lives. Rejection is not something to be taken lightly, but you can work on it. You can see where your writing is proving to be weak. You can start reading more and studying towards your betterment.

Rejection is not biased and it has created worse consequences in the lives of numerous people in spite of age, gender, social status and ethnicity. It is particularly hurtful when the quality of your writing is questioned. When a writer is too confident about the work, then in such cases, rejection could be damaging. The pain of rejection will make the writer insecure and lessen the confidence levels. The writer can become self-doubting. This is healthy up to some extent, and you can come up with your masterpiece during such times. But these feelings must not become your obsession and they must pass away with time. The pain of rejection can begin the depressive feelings in a writer, it paralyzes our creative skills. During such times solace and self discovering process can help you to handle the rough times. These testing times are not forever. Facing them with strength is the best way to respond it. Good learning bends and observation can help you to cultivate your writing skills more effectively and you can generate your masterpiece before the people who once rejected it.

Rejection has stages that every individual goes through: it is a denial of incidence, anger towards the situation, beginning with your feelings, depression and submission to the situation, and lastly comes the acceptance. The trick is to get to the last part of rejection process as quickly  as possible, as it is the way to get free from the pain of rejection.
